Psychotherapy seems to be a natural for me, as I have always been fascinated by the relationship and connection between things. However, professional training is important, and I received mine at Calvin College and Seminary (Bachelor of Arts, 1975) and Fuller Theological Seminary (Master of Arts, 1981).
As an experienced Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed by the state of California in 1986, I submit to all the legal and ethical standards and bring the professionalism that this licensure requires.
I’ve been a member of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists since 1993, and have served as an officer for the local Inland Empire Chapter for four years. Not only does this allow me to give back to my profession, but I take advantage of the numerous opportunities to continue my development as a clinician.
In 1990, I achieved the certification In Imago Relationship Therapy. I have since been a member of, and served as an officer for, the Southern California Imago Therapists (socalimagotherapy.org). I am also a long time clinical member of Imago Relationships International (imagorelationships.org), a non-profit foundation for the advancement of couples growth and healing.
In addition to enjoying my work with individuals, I have a passion for working with couples. I am a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, in addition to being a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I am also trained in EMDR* (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based method of treating trauma that can be brought into either individual or couples therapy effectively.
